Microdrones™ partners with Delair-Tech to offer complete aerial mapping toolkit

Rome, New York, November 7, 2016:  Two world leaders in the commercial UAV industry are collaborating to offer professional aerial mapping applications. Delair-Tech, a global provider of professional fixed wing UAVs, and Microdrones, the groundbreaking manufacturer of industrial-grade quadcopters, have signed a revolutionary partnership agreement with plans to  develop new solutions that will provide greater value for professional drone users.

The forging of this partnership comes after Delair-Tech’s recent acquisition of Gatewing, a pioneer in UAV photogrammetry. The goal is to create a one-stop shop product line that provides users with a full range of powerful, cost-effective solutions that improve operational efficiency.

“This partnership is an exciting first step. By combining our production, research, and development efforts we will be able to deliver the highest quality solutions and services to the end customer,” said Sven Juerss, CEO of Microdrones.

The companies’ first collaborative priorities include:

  • Developing a complete line of industrial UAVs available from a single provider. This product line will include both rotary and fixed wing aircraft to accommodate the distance and flight path requirements of various project types. Users will be able to obtain the right solutions for a wide range of applications from one trusted source.
  • Combining the best components of existing softwares from Microdrones, Delair-Tech, and Gatewing vehicles to provide a common platform across the entire line of aircraft. This will simplify pilot training and workflows across aircraft.
  • Leveraging Delair-Tech’s advanced BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) capabilities and expertise to create multirotor BVLOS UAVs that will be ready when market regulations approve their use in the United States.

“Another top priority will be merging sales channels and distribution networks to make it easier for industrial users to procure the aircraft they need,” explained Microdrones President, Vivien Hériard Dubreuil. Microdrones and Delair-Tech recently signed an agreement with Trimble that established the companies as preferred fixed wing and rotary UAV providers.

“On the heels of our Gatewing acquisition, Delair-Tech is proud to be working with Microdrones to serve clients’ needs with a complete range of UAV solutions. With this partnership, Delair-Tech defines its direction for the future: to offer complete solutions that perfectly meet the needs of specific industries like energy, transport, agriculture, construction, and security,” said Michael de Lagarde, co-founder and CEO of Delair-Tech.
